9 Hot Careers for Women Who Love to Travel
Obsessed with traveling but don’t have a the means to do so as often as you’d like?
Well, trust me when I say I can totally relate!
Fortunately, we live in a digital world where virtually anything is possible when it comes to working on the go.
Grab a snack and check out the list of cool careers for women with a bit of wanderlust.
Become a Flight Attendant
You’ll spend much of your shift above thousands of feet of fresh air and clouds while providing customer service and comfort to fliers.
You’ll also earn discounted flights for yourself, family and friends through your employer.
Working as a flight attendant is perfect for people who can travel on a whim to different states and countries across the globe.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS), Flight attendants earned an average of $50,500 per year as of May 2017! Not too shabby is you ask me.
Of course, since this is only an average, some flight attendants earn less and others more.
As a travel nurse, not only are you saving lives and earning a lucrative living, you also get to spend your time in other places across the country or world.
Registered nurses already earn lucrative salaries as it is.
In 2017, the BLS reported that registered nurses earned an annual median income of $70,000.
Once the incentives for travel are factored in, it’s realistic that you’ll earn thousands more.
Nurses with specialty practices (i.e. nurse anesthetists, practitioners, midwives) can earn well over 6 figures per year.
Travel Blogger or Vlogger
Thank God for the world being digital, right? There are so many opportunities to create your own success as a blogger or vlogger.
A few of the key the rules to being able to financially support your travel in this field are:
- Be Consistent
- Build a Loyal Following
- Create Quality Content that Solve Your Customers’ Problems
- Monetize Your Efforts Early
By following the above guidelines, you’ll be able to create and monetize your blog and eventually earn enough money to write and travel on a consistent basis.
One of my favorite bloggers who’s actually living on the go and traveling is Michelle Schroeder-Gardner of Making Sense of Cents. Her story is extremely motivational in inspiring for anyone interested in making a living as a blogger.
At the time of this blog post in 2018, Michelle makes well over $100,000 per month from her blogging and affiliate efforts!

Learning to design websites doesn’t have to cost you years of your life in school either.
Some web designers are self-taught while others prefer the more traditional route.
Whichever option you choose, you can make big bucks crafting beautiful and functional web sites for others. WordPress is what most bloggers and site creators use to build their content on (I use WordPress as well).
It’s fairly simple to use and WordPress sites are able to be customized and loaded with all types of options for blogs, e-commerce sites and those with membership needs.
